Dataforensics' Geotechnical Data Management Software PLog Enterprise to be Implemented by the New Orleans District U.S. Army Corps of EngineersNorcross, Georgia, July 7, 2009 – Dataforensics, developer of geotechnical data management software applications, has been awarded a contact from the New Orleans District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE – NO) for Dataforensics’ PLog Enterprise software. Included in the scope of work is the implementation of the PLog Enterprise system for the New Orleans District, as well as the enhancement of PLog Enterprises’ capacities to interact with ArcSDE technology and with Oracle databases. PLog Enterprise is a data management system with GIS capabilities; built for the geotechnical industry. PLog Enterprise enables users to archive their geotechnical data into one database. It provides a map interface for viewing, retrieving, and documenting geotechnical data. A straightforward query interface allows Clients to use PLog Enterprise to review data effortlessly for criteria as specified by users. USACE – New Orleans District Senior Geologist Steve Savage stated, “PLog Enterprise has all the software features this district requires in an Enterprise GIS application. To develop such an application on our own would take years, and would have sustained considerable additional costs. Acquiring PLog Enterprise has saved the New Orleans District tens of thousands of dollars.” “The Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District gINT database is extensive. It was constructed to meet a wide range of their geotechnical reporting requirements. They do not want to lose those capabilities. PLog Enterprise allows them to maintain the use of their gINT geotechnical database and reports. It also lets the New Orleans District enhance their data management capacities as the industry advances. Additionally, PLog Enterprise gives them data mining capabilities now. This is very important since geotechnical engineers are working with an ever-increasing amount of data.” said Scott Deaton, Dataforensics President.
