ESdat is an environmental data management system for environmental professionals

Contaminated and Industrial Site Investigations
When you perform an contaminated or industrial site investigation, you typically produce large amounts of data related to soil and water testing, as well as QA test samples. Organizing, analyzing and reporting this information takes a lot of time and effort by you and your personnel. ESdat can help you automate these tasks by minimizing manual data entry, automating transfer of data between several software applications, and simplifying data analysis.
Groundwater assessments
You typically must collect data from several sources for a groundwater assessment project: soil samples, ground water samples, surface water samples, piezometer readings and more. Validating chemical test results and analyzing the data are large tasks. ESdat can help you automate these tasks saving you time and money on each job.
Landfills
Landfill monitoring has large data sets over long-term monitoring. ESdat can help you manage these large data sets easily with electronic sampling plans, electronic chain of custody forms (eCOC), laboratory data validation, QA/QC, and streamlined analyses and reporting.
Create sample plans to assist with field data collection
ESdat can help you before you ever go in to the field. ESdat can help you streamline your sample planning and data collection activities. With ESdat you can create a digital sampling plan which you can then download to your PDA or PC Tablet which has PLog Environmental installed on it. ESdat then imports your field test and sample information from PLog and use the data to create an electronic Chain of Custody/laboratory specifications for submittal to the labs with the samples.
Import field, historical and laboratory data
Field and borehole data
You can import validated field data such as pH, turbidity, temperature , groundwater measurements, et cetera directly in to ESdat using ESdat Excel based templates or by using PLog Environmental.
If you are using ESdat and PLog Environmental together, you can compare data collected in the field using PLog Environmental against specifications and test results received from the laboratory once you uplaod the data from PLog Environmental to ESdat which saves you many hours of checking information manually.
You can also add data to ESdat directly on a map interface or in tables.
Historical data
You can import historical data you have for a site directly using a tabular format in Excel. Data will be validated prior to import in to the ESdat data management system.
Laboratory data
You can import data you receive from the laboratory directly in to ESdat, including all QA information such as holding times, blanks and more. Validation of data is performed via ESdat prior to import in to the data management system.
Perform chemical quality assurance on lab and field data
Reviewing laboratory and field test results manually can take you a long time. ESdat can produce Quality Assurance reports for laboratory and field data. Items include holding time violations and evaluating exceedances for tolerated percent changes based on historical values for QA samples.
Create a variety of reports based on your reporting needs
Chemistry Tables
With ESdat you can produce formatted chemistry tables in Excel format via a data export in ESdat. You can specify items in the table such as compound orientation (horizontal or vertical), compound grouping, formatting (how to display values that pass standards), environmental standards and exceedances of environmental standards by font changes or highlighting fields.
Trend Analysis and Graphs
You can produce trend graphs for any time-series data using ESdat. Using ESdat you can:
- Create Mann Kendal or Linear Regression trend analysis graphs
- Include environmental guidelines or trigger levels for action
- Automatically update charge for on-going site monitoring
- Produce all of your graphs in Excel which can then be edited as any Excel file
- Customize your report templates
Maps and Spatial Analysis
ESdat has all the basic functionality required for a GIS system to enable you to produce report quality maps. Additionally you can export data to Arc Map, Mapinfo, Surfer or Google Earth.
Borehole Logs
ESdat is capable of importing borehole logging data directly from PLog or Excel to integrate the borehole data with the data from the rest of your environmental site data. ESdat can then generate borehole reports using your existing gINT or WinLog software application. No more duplicate data entry to generate borehole logs.
