Dataforensics’ RAPID CPT makes importing data as easy as a few clicks of a mouse…without any transposition errors. RAPID CPT imports CPT data from the following formats:

CPT analysis & reporting

Once the CPT data is imported into gINT, you can start your analysis and reporting. Dataforensics RAPID CPT automatically calculates the following parameters upon importing the data into gINT:

In many cases RAPID CPT calculates multiple correlations for the same parameter.  For example, there are three OCR correlations and six undrained shear strength correlations.

Analyzing and Interpreting your Cone Penetration Testing data dynamically

Dataforensics RAPID CPT encapsulates most typical CPT analyses. Dataforensics RAPID CPT for gINT has over 55 calculations and correlations typically used by professionals evaluating CPT data. If the tool does not include a correlation you use, we can add it to your customized version of the tool or you can add a correlation yourself.

Dynamic calculations

RAPID CPT system is flexible.  The user can specify various parameters which affect the analysis including:

  • The Min and Max Drained Threshold Zones i.e. the soil behavior type zones where the material exhibits drained behavior
  • The Ic drained Threshold Zone
  • The Soil Behavior Type (Qt vs Bq or Qt vs Fr) or Material Index (Ic) used in determining whether the material exhibits drained or undrained behavior
  • Geographic parameters such as Nu, NkT, Nk, Nc
  • Water depth
  • Total density for the entire soil profile or for specific depth ranges or even use the total density estimated by the software
  • Smoothing of the Soil Behavior Type via a moving average function
  • Use qc or qt in correlations
  • k factor in OCR correlation
  • Output Units (MPa, kPa, Bars, ksf, psf, psi, tsf)

Streamlined analysis and interpretation

Any change you make updates all calculations immediately. Thus all changes are reflected immediately on all reports you generate. You no longer have to recalculate values in Excel or whatever program you are using, and then import the data into gINT again to include it on borehole logs, CPT reports, etc.  Dataforensics’ RAPID CPT allows you to perform the entire analysis, interpretation and reporting process within a single software package. If you change one value in gINT, all values are updated, and all graphs immediately reflect the changes.

Dynamic reports

RAPID CPT includes many different reports two different types of reports, the standard report and the dynamic report.  For all reports, the software determines relevant scales for the x and y axes of each plot.  However, the user can specify values to override the x and y axes scales.  The standard report always shows qt, fs, pore pressure, friction ratio, Soil Behavior Type and either shear wave velocity or equivalent (N1)60. The dynamic report allows the user to choose which parameters to include on a report and the order in which they appear.

Additionally, you can specify up to 3 different moving average intervals to smooth plots of the Soil Behavior Type Normalized Friction Ratio and Normalized Pore Water Pressure Ratio. This is particularly useful for investigating different moving average intervals that are used to create a generalized soil profile.  It allows you to customize the amount of smoothing that occurs within a sounding for the Soil Behavior Type.
